Terms

Terms of participation

Effective 8 September 2026. These terms explain how to use GazeStudy and its public website.

The service

GazeStudy is operated by Magura Digital OÜ, registry code 16981402, Harju maakond, Tallinn, Kesklinna linnaosa, Jõe tn 3-303, 10151. It provides a voluntary native iPhone capture study for developing and evaluating gaze-estimation software. Contact artur.zhdan@gptinf.com.

Eligibility and choice

You must be at least 18 and able to give informed consent. Read the study information and privacy policy before agreeing. You can decline, pause, stop, or request deletion. These terms do not waive your privacy rights or replace the consent shown in the app.

Safe and considerate participation

Use the app while stationary in a safe place. Do not use it while driving, cycling, or walking. Keep other people out of camera view and do not submit someone else’s recording. Stop if you feel discomfort. Do not interfere with the service, attempt to access other participants’ recordings, or submit misleading data.

Research limitations

The pilot may have errors, interruptions, or incomplete recordings. It does not promise a level of gaze accuracy, a personal assessment, or a medical benefit. It must not be used for diagnosis, treatment, safety-critical decisions, or decisions about another person’s employment or education.

Fees and participation arrangements

The app and website do not charge a participation fee or sell subscriptions. No compensation is promised here. If a recruiter separately offers compensation, the amount, conditions, and organiser must be disclosed before participation.

Data and intellectual property

The privacy policy and study consent govern personal-data use; participation is not a transfer of ownership of your identity or an unlimited licence to publish your face. The software and website materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may use the service for its intended purpose.

Changes and applicable rights

We may maintain, update, or discontinue the pilot and will update material study disclosures before collecting data under changed terms. Applicable Estonian law governs these terms to the extent permitted, without depriving you of mandatory consumer or data-protection rights where you live. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
